Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome.
St. David’s offers two Sunday services:
8 AM - Morning Prayer Rite I
Morning Prayer is a quiet, contemplative service. It does not have music or the Eucharist.
Rite I uses traditional language and service elements.
This service is only offered in-person.
9:30 AM - Holy Eucharist Rite II
Holy Eucharist is a service in two parts: the Word of God and Holy Communion.
This service has music, which usually include the St. David’s choir and the organ.
Rite II uses contemporary, inclusive language.
This service is available in-person and on Zoom.
All are welcome at the Lord’s Table
Who can receive Holy Communion?
All seeking God are welcome at Christ’s Table.
Bread and wine are distributed down the center aisle. For those who wish to partake of bread, bread will be placed into your outstretched palm. All bread is gluten free. One chalice is available for you to dip your bread. The common cup is available for you to drink. If you do not wish to partake of wine, please cross your arms over your chest as you pass by the chalice. The full grace of the sacrament is received with only bread. If you wish to receive a blessing instead, please cross your arms in front of your chest, and the Celebrant will offer you a blessing.
“Let the children come to me” -Matthew 19:13
Are children welcome at services?
St. David’s welcomes families to participate in whatever way works best for them. At the back of the nave, we have a family area with a rocking chair, nursing covers, children’s books, and quiet materials. We also offer Godly Play, a Montessori-based program for elementary-age children. Classes are normally held during the morning service during the school year (September through mid June).
Godly Play is based upon the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. All they lack is the appropriate language to help them identify and express it so it can be explored and strengthened. Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language—parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action—helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.
Classes are always taught by two adults, a storyteller and a doorkeeper. St. David’s has all teachers complete the Safeguarding God’s Children program and pass a background check.
